If you're a contractor working across multiple industries or clients, there's a good chance you've been asked to qualify on more than one contractor management platform. ISNetworld, Avetta, and Veriforce are the three dominant platforms, and while they all serve the same basic purpose — helping clients pre-qualify contractors on safety and compliance — their documentation requirements have important differences.
Understanding what each platform needs helps you avoid duplicate work and get compliant on all three as efficiently as possible.
What All Three Platforms Have in Common
Despite their differences, ISNetworld, Avetta, and Veriforce all operate on the same core principle: they want to see written evidence that your company has formal safety programs in place, that workers are trained, and that the training is documented.
Across all three platforms, you'll need:
- Written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) covering applicable hazards
- Evidence of worker training (training records, sign-in logs)
- Assessment or competency verification
- Up-to-date revision dates and document control
The programs most universally required across all three platforms include: General Safety, Fall Protection, Electrical Safety, Confined Space Entry, Emergency Action Plan, Hazard Communication, PPE, and First Aid. If you're building a compliance library from scratch, starting with these programs covers the majority of requirements on all three platforms.
ISNetworld: The Most Audit-Intensive Platform
ISNetworld's RAVS Plus process is the most comprehensive of the three. Auditors review each document against a detailed rubric and score them based on specific criteria including regulatory citations, procedure specificity, and alignment between documents.
What sets ISNetworld apart:
- The four-document requirement (SOP + training deck + assessment + training log) is the most strictly enforced here
- OSHA citation accuracy is scored and can directly impact your grade
- Auditors leave specific corrective action comments when documents don't meet standards
- Client requirements vary significantly — each client in ISNetworld can mandate different programs
Timeline: With complete, well-prepared documentation, initial RAVS Plus review typically takes 3–6 weeks. Incomplete submissions extend this significantly.
Avetta: Streamlined but Still Rigorous
Avetta (formerly PICS) has a slightly more streamlined review process than ISNetworld but still requires formal written programs and evidence of training. The platform is widely used in utilities, telecommunications, and facilities management.
What sets Avetta apart:
- Requirements are often set at the client level — what one Avetta client requires may differ from another
- The review process tends to be faster than ISNetworld's RAVS when documentation is complete
- Training records and documentation of worker qualifications are heavily emphasized
- Some Avetta clients require third-party safety certifications or pre-qualification surveys in addition to documentation
Timeline: Avetta qualification timelines vary more than ISNetworld, largely depending on the specific client's requirements and review queue.
Veriforce: Industry-Specific Focus
Veriforce is the dominant contractor management platform in the pipeline and utility sectors. It has a strong emphasis on craft and skills verification in addition to safety documentation, making it distinct from the other two.
What sets Veriforce apart:
- Greater emphasis on craft competency and skills verification (not just safety programs)
- Strong presence in pipeline construction, maintenance, and utility work
- Safety documentation requirements overlap heavily with ISNetworld, so programs prepared for one often transfer
- Requires detailed personnel records and training history for specific crafts and certifications
Can the Same Documents Work Across All Three?
Yes — with one important caveat. The core content of an HSE program (the procedures, hazard controls, OSHA references) is platform-agnostic. A well-written Confined Space Entry SOP meets the substantive requirements for ISNetworld, Avetta, and Veriforce.
What varies is the formatting, headers, and any platform-specific metadata fields. Documents need your company name, revision date, and document control information regardless of which platform you're submitting to.
The most efficient approach: build one high-quality set of compliance documents and customize the formatting for each platform's submission portal. Don't write three separate versions of the same program.
Building Your Compliance Library
Procedure-Pros builds every compliance package to meet the substantive requirements of ISNetworld, Avetta, and Veriforce. Each package includes the SOP, Training Deck, Assessment, and Training Log — the four-document standard that satisfies the most rigorous platform (ISNetworld), which means it exceeds the requirements of the others.
Documents arrive as editable files so you can add your company branding and any site-specific information before submitting to any platform.
